Wetpour Playground Safety Flooring

Thursday 20th of June 2019

We are wetpour playground safety flooring specialists and we have been in the industry for many years and have a wealth of knowledge and experience.

Wetpour is a very popular surface option for many facilities. It is commonly installed in some of the below:

  • Playground & Parks
  • Schools & Nurseries
  • Outdoor Activity Areas
  • Public Recreational Areas
  • Care Homes

We are able to create a range of designs and specifications to suit your requirements. Each project we carry out is bespoke to that facility.

A benefit with wetpour is that you can be creative by adding bright colours and graphics into the surfacing. There are many types of graphics to choose from and many schools and nurseries choose educational graphics, to create a fun learning environment.

Playground Rubber Safety Surfacing

Rubber wet pour is a superior replacement for tired old tarmac areas. Some people refer to it as soft tarmac, as it has a similar appearance.

Wetpour is a long-lasting, hardwearing and porous safety surface and when maintained can last for a number of years.

Wet Pour Critical Fall Height

Critical Fall Height should always be taken into consideration when having wetpour surfacing installed.

If your facility wants a wet pour surface and you will be having play equipment, such as a climbing frame on there. Then you should find out what the required CFH is for that equipment. If you’re unsure on this, then the play equipment suppliers should know this.

It is very important to get this right as this is what makes the surface a safety surface. If you’ve high CFH requirement for your piece of playground equipment, then a thicker depth of wet pour would have to be installed to make it safe.

Our rubber surfacing has been tested to meet required CFH specifications. If you let us know what your CFH requirement is and your current sub base, we will be able to tell you what depth should be installed.

Safety Flooring for Playgrounds

When deciding on a wetpour safety surfacing area, there are several key aspects to consider:

  • The Critical Fall Height (CFH) requirements
  • The purpose of the surface and what activities will it be used for
  • The sub base
  • The type of area that you are trying to cover e.g. is it level or is it an area with trees
  • Will there be equipment used in this area.

These types of questions will all help select the best-suited surface for your requirements.
